Happy! I'm finally feeling better after having this god awful flu for nearly 3 weeks! And bonus, tonight is the Black Veil Brides & Asking Alexandria concert in Toronto at REBEL and I have a ticket to it! First concert! And even better? This is a bit of a #TipTuesday and #WIP! More experienced cosplayers will probably know this, but newbies may not! If you can't stand the smell of contact cement at all, not using worbla or any really expensive materials, and just normal foam, you can actually skip a painting process by sewing fabric onto the foam with your machine. Bear in mind this only works for thin foam (like normal craft foam, though for these pauldrons I used anti-slip shelf liner). To get the colour and look I wanted I used red vinyl to cover the top (though I admittedly used contact cement at first), and went around the edges to hide the "mess" and give the finished look with bias tape. This is still a learning experience for me as I have only done it this once, but I knew of this method before :) It's really handy! These pauldrons will be for my boyfriend Victor's Blue Mage Bartz Klauser for KupoCon this coming weekend in Toronto.
