@anorable: saying that i look up to nora is the biggest understatement of this current and probably the next century. you might’ve thought that i simply just enjoyed her writing but like. even before i took the Great Hiatus™ that i did, i was reading nora’s fics alongside of tempest in a teacup and literally just. hoping i could soak up all of the beautiful poetry of her words. so many of nora’s fics graced my life that no longer exist, otherwise my list would be bursting at the seams as it already stands. reading nora’s fanfiction can be described with only the purest and most poetic words possible. her talent isn’t with the prose; it all lies within the gentle tones of the words and how they come to life.
with nora’s writing, a touch isn’t just a touch. a hand isn’t just a hand, it’s what you can do with it and how it feels and what it’s like along the instep and over the knuckles. but it’s described in such visceral detail that you feel like you’re living it and you’re present. or even just to be lucky enough to read a passage that is just so gentle in its description that the emotions bleed through the paper-thin barrier between real life and the pseudo-reality she can create with her words.
I COULD LITERALLY RANT ABOUT YOU FOREVER NORA!!! not even excusing you as a person because you’re just??? a sweet disney princess??? like nora can sing??? did you know she sings to the birds every day??? she is just. if i have ever met anyone as innocent and sweet and talented and wholesome as you, i’d swear you were just. a messiah. and sometimes i feel like i was meant to meet you because you just inspire me to be better not just as a writer but as a person? just invest in myself wholly and be like you?? like goddkslfjdlf;js
thank you for being my archetype of what i want to be, thank you for being my friend and sharing your most treasured words with me. i can’t wait to see lottie one day on the shelves winking back at me from the shrouded forest on the front cover of a novel.
