My Headcannon for Cid Highwind

If Rufus is a descendant of Shinra from FFX, then Cid Highwind is a descendant of Cid from FFX.

But FFX Cid's name wasn't Highwind. That guy doesn't even have a last name. So lets focus on skill sets. His people have a knack figuring out technology. So does Cid Highwind. He figured out how to assemble the parts used to make The Shera. He also admits that he's still figuring her out. If he is related, its through his mom's side. I wouldn't be surprised if both FFX Cid's line and Shinra's stayed connected till President Shinra came around

Yet Cid goes by the name Highwind. That name is from his dad's side of the family and where he inherited those dragoon skills. He seems like the type of guy who would want to earn his place in history. Maybe his mom's name may have helped, but he didn't need that help. So he wasn't be using his mom's maiden name. I truly believe he got to where he was all on his own skills.

Why even mention this? Because the same people that get excited about President Shinra using the same name as a FFX character, won't even consider Cid being related to Al Bhed Cid. Their excuse? His last name is Highwind. By that logic, they should just treat the whole FFX Shinra and FFX Shinra as an in joke and not take it serious either. Which is kinda annoying, but I also seen the same people convinced Cloud is a bastard Child of President Shinra and they have named all his bastard kids. Cloud Strife is not one of them. And with Glen Lodbrok in the picture, we have a theory Cloud is his bastard child. All these are fun theories. I just want people to keep an open mind with the Cid theory.

But if you are going to play with those theories on Cloud and ride the FFX is the past for FF7, then at least keep an open mind about Cid Highwind.
