I just realized, I completed Part 1 of FGO and never ranked the singularities by how much I enjoyed them, so here we go.
1. Solomon - All the Servants coming to your aid? Mash putting her life on the line? Finding out the villain’s motivations? Roman sacrificing everything he is to stop Goetia and give you a chance to win? That last part where it’s just you and Goetia having one last fight? Mash coming back at the last moment to save you?
This is just a series of questions that aren’t questions, but I think I got my point across.
2. Babylonia - What can I say? The story is fantastic, the characters are fantastic, for a final singularity before the finale, it does the job. Gil was great, the threat was great, it added to the overall story, and it really made you feel triumphant when you were finished.
3. Camelot - I think this is a good singularity, but I think it comes pretty close to America for me. I think the story is excellent, as well as setting up some good stuff for the future. I didn’t like Arturia much in Camelot, though. It kind of felt like she wasn’t there much. Plus I was told Camelot is where it gets good, so maybe my expectations were too high?
4. America - I think this comes down to the characters for me. I like the story of Camelot more, but America has lots of characters I really enjoyed. I liked Cu Alter and Medb as villains, and having Cu come in and decimate your entire team partway through really showed him as a threat. And I really liked Scathach. Really, it’s the characters that give this one it’s charm for me.
5. London - Genuinely enjoyed this one, still a bit bumpy, but I enjoyed a lot of the characters and the ending really hooked me in to the rest of the story, really gave me a concrete villain that I preferred to any previous ones.
6. Orleans - Honestly had some really good moments despite it originally being why I dropped the game twice. I really liked some of the stuff with Marie and Amadeus, as well as some stuff with Elisabeth and her future self.
7. Okeanos - Didn’t like Blackbeard as a villain, so hated the first half, got a bit better in the second half so I was enjoying it a bit there.
8. Septem - I remember nothing that happened here, it just seemed kind of bland.
