cast these socks on on Christmas Day! and I finished the first sock on New Years!! ….until I realized I didn’t pick a stretchy enough bind off and they suddenly didn’t fit. not to worry tho, I frogged back to the beginning of the ribbing to try Jeny’s surprisingly stretchy bind-off this time :3

also, a first for me: I broke a pair of circulars knitting the first sock! it was a super cheap pair, so that tracks lol. I replaced them with chiaogoo and the difference is so obvious, these are way nicer. The cord is a lovely, like braided metal and they don’t get in the way like the plastic ones tend to

woah! work travel, you know what that means? it means on Sat. I started a simpler project than 5 color colorwork socks so I could have a plane project.

after arriving, I’m here, which means I just have to pick up the stitches around the thumb and I’ll have a new mitten! I wanted an easy quick project, and mittens will be very useful. I’m in a caroling group and outdoor gigs are cold where I’m at lol

Plus I’m a local yarn store supporter and I got to check out the place closest to my new apartment since I moved last month. I’ll show off the final project but yay, most of a mitten! maybe I’ll be done at the end of the week when I come back home!

listening to/watching: doctor who + choir rehearsal I didn’t go to in person since I wasn’t feeling well

ive been trying to improve my colorwork and socks seem waaay less intimidating than a whole sweater. and aren’t these socks adorable? they’re from animal crossing ♡

I started this about a month ago now. i told myself i’d take a picture every time I finished a ball of yarn for this project. not only have I not been doing that but also it would not look like much - this cardigan has taken almost exactly one ball of yarn for each front panel so far. back piece will probably be 2-2.5

i have been really enjoying making this cardigan and I can’t wait to wear it. i think I’ll have leftover yarn and I’m considering making a tank top to match for a cute lil matching set :3

woah finished my second pair of socks. I bought this really fun variegated yellow yarn over a year ago to make socks and I finally did it. (The other one is done, I swear. is it technically a perfectly matching pair of socks? no but… oh well, maybe I’ll fix that someday) Im absolutely enamoured with the ruffles. i will probably keep this pattern saved to make more ruffled socks in the future ♡

anyways, be good be safe be smart, and for my current project (a cardigan) I’m taking a picture every time I finish a ball of yarn. Already have the first pic, so stayed tuned!
