Someone Asked For Fibro/CFS Advice ....Here is my answer ....
Self care self care self care. You learn to know your limits, don't ignore them. Eat as well as you can but don't kick yourself for the occasional treat Rest when you can. If you don't sleep well at night(🤣😂🤣😂) but know that you could prob fall asleep at some other time (and are able to,) don't fight it-your probably not going to sleep long anyway and so what if you do, your body needs it Educate yourself and your family. You will need help and they are going to need to know why. Cut as many negative nellies and doubters(whom you have already attempted to educate) out of your life as you can. Your health is worth more than their “friendship” Find a doctor who is a partner with you in finding what works to help you. Someone who actually listens and is willing to work with you. Be your own advocate. Only you know exactly what you are dealing with. Look into any and all possible treatments out there and discuss them with your doctor. If they won't harm you and you are willing to try it, your doctor should be open enough to give it a shot since no one person is exactly the same . There is no one treatment that works best for everyone and usually it's a combination of things. If medical marijuana is legal in your state, it is worth at least a conversation if not trying it for things like muscle spasms. Try an epsom salt bath & learn some basic meditation. At worst, it was will help you relax…..for me the meditation works when the pain is at its worst. It brings it to a level I can breathe. For some people, it can keep it from getting bad at all. Don't be too hard on yourself. Depending on the severity, your entire life may be different. You have th right to mourn your losses & even have a pity party…..just don't move in there and don't give up! There may be a lot of things you can no longer do that you love but find something that you still can do. It will make it easier. Even on my worse days I could take pictures so I committed to project 365. I committed to myself to take at least 1 photo a day for a year. I missed a few days but I ended up with over 1500 photos and my editing skills improved immensely. Your life is not over. It's just a new chapter I can tell you that I have never been in as much pain prior to fibro in my life(& I was in pain for 20 years before it became fibro) but I've also never been happier in some areas of my life. Find others who share your disease. They understand when you don't have the energy to explain. Live better, together! | PatientsLikeMe (http://PatientsLikeMe.com) is a good place to start but even Tumblr has an active community of spoonies who understand. Know that no matter what happens….you will be ok. ((((((Gentle Hugs))))))
