Fibrocystic Breast Disease?!
Yesterday I got my medical examination as for my Master’s Degree requirement. I had the basic five lab tests-- blood, stool, urine, x-ray, and Physical examination.
2018 literally welcomed me with a bang. To make the story short, the last lab test I took was the Physical examination administered by a Physician. The Doctor examined my breasts and found out a small-pea size of cyst in my left breast. She advised me to just be cautious at it.
Since it would take 24 hours for the lab results to be released, I decided to go back home and will claim the results this weekend, instead of filing a sick leave again (YASS! Career woman!).
Now, if you’re in my case you’d probably be curious as f*ck. So, I just googled conditions about breast cyst and found this type of Breast Disease:
The fibrocystic breast or fibrocystic change. It is a benign (noncancerous) condition in which the breasts feel lumpy. Fibrocystic breasts aren’t harmful or dangerous, but may be bothersome or uncomfortable for some women. According to the Mayo Clinic, more than half of women will develop fibrocystic breast disease at some point in their lives. Many women with fibrocystic breasts will not have any associated symptoms. Although it isn’t harmful to have fibrocystic breasts, this condition can make the detection of breast cancer more challenging. (Link : https://www.healthline.com/health/fibrocystic-breast-disease).
I guess I have fibrocystic breast disease. Anyway, I will still ask for a second opinion. And if surgery is necessary in my case.
So, now what? Basically I would start to live healthy. I might start exercising tomorrow morning and eat healthy food. Actually, I am torn between living my life in wellness or living my life with no regrets. I mean, life is short. But how can you enjoy living?
I really wish you could share some words of wisdom or whatever you wanted to tell me. :P
Gonna end this with the cliche but true slogan,
“an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”.
Have a nice journey everyone!
