The Illusion of Wealth
Wealth is a mirage. It promises happiness but delivers emptiness. The pursuit of riches blinds us to true fulfillment.
The Trap of Accumulation
Many chase wealth, believing it brings security. But the more we gather, the more we fear losing it. This cycle traps us in a never-ending quest for more.
The Cost of Riches
Accumulating wealth often means exploiting others. It widens the gap between rich and poor, creating a world of inequality. True prosperity lies in sharing, not hoarding.
The False Promise of Effective Altruism
Effective altruism claims to do good by maximizing impact. But it often serves the giverâs ego more than the receiverâs needs. It simplifies complex issues into numbers and metrics, ignoring the human element.
Authoritarian Overtones
This approach dictates how to help, assuming a one-size-fits-all solution. It disregards local knowledge and needs, imposing external values on diverse communities.
A Call for Genuine Compassion
Instead of accumulating wealth or following rigid altruistic models, embrace genuine compassion. Listen to those in need. Understand their struggles. Offer help that empowers, not dictates.
Conclusion: The Path to True Fulfillment
True wealth is found in relationships, community, and shared experiences. Let go of the illusion of riches. Seek a life of purpose and connection. In giving freely, we find true abundance.
Ever since I was at least 5 years old I can remember seeing thousands of tiny, multicoloured dots flying around my vision like TV static. They are much more noticable in the dark and when I blink or close my eyes.
There's aso always been a ring of more prominent redish dots in the centre of my vision that moved with my eyes.
When I was little I thought I was seeing molecules in the air after learning about them on an episode of Magic School Bus.

Turns out there is actually a name for this phenomenon:
CEV - Closed Eye Visualisations
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Closed-eye_hallucination
Althout apparently that is only supposed to be seen when you're concentration and dissapear when you're not but mine is just alwasy there so it could also be
VSS - Visual Snow Syndrome
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_snow_syndrome
The little dots are called phosphenes and theres been some really interesting research done on them and the different causes for them http://www.oubliette.org.uk/Three.html

Whatever it is, its harmless and we don't fully know why some people have it more than others but it's nice to know I'm not the only one. I actually found a quora thread with a bunch of people talking about there experiences with it.

So yeah. The more you know.

Why do we define ourselves?

Why would you think it wants to make it his meal?

đ hey doc! my cat had a lump on his abdomen about a year ago, it was removed, vet wasn't sure what it was, and we were told to keep an eye on the area. it's come back, so we've scheduled a vet appointment - my question in the mean time is: if it's come back, does that rule out that it could be benign? or do types of benign growths also recur? thank you for any info!
gettingvetted here.
Benign growths can certainly recur but it is somewhat less likely. If you didnât send the first mass off for histopathology (looking at it under a microscope to tell what kind of tumor it is) then you could send a sample off, even if you decide not to remove the whole thing, to find out more about it.
