Oh-K! I am N O T pregnant. Neither have I just had a baby. Scrolling through social media, I have seen comments asking why my stomach keeps getting bigger and people asking my friends if I am pregnant or just had a baby. The worst one was a lady looking down her nose during one of our Convention Weekends and asking me why my stomach is soo big.😫🤦🏾♀️😫 That one statement ruined the weekend experience. Everyday I continue to receive such messages and unwanted "Congratulations" from people I know and complete strangers. It sucks🥺 It is tiring and deeply upsetting to put up with such level of ignorance especially from women. It is already hard for me and many others with my condition. Please stop reminding me of how my stomach looks to you. I know it is big and that is what I have to deal with. What I have is F I B R O I D S. Fibroids are non-cancerous growths that develop in or around the womb (uterus). The growths are made up of muscle and fibrous tissue, and vary in size. They're sometimes known as uterine myomas or leiomyomas. Many women are unaware they have fibroids because they do not have any symptoms. Unfortunately for me and many other women, the fibroids could grow to the size of a baby or bigger. This is our reality as we look for ways to manage the condition. #fibroids #fibroidschampion #fibroidsadvocate #fibroid #fibroidawarenessmonth #womenshealth #health #lifestyle #growth #healthcare #mammypi #ndiàmangye #selfawareness #education #educate #unitednations #worldhealthorganization #wholesomememes #who #healthylifestyle (at Kigali Serena Hotel) https://www.instagram.com/p/CS_mYK0NyIR/?utm_medium=tumblr
