So, NGL, been seeing all those original season five Kripke ending posts floating around with baby Samantha and I just straight up forgot that Ben existed?? I love the idea of The Roles getting fucked up because of Dean so clearly having a preference for little Sammy and getting irrationally angry that Ben isn't mindlessly devoted to his little brother sister like he's supposed to be. Ben secretly blaming Sam for Lisa's death... Omg, Lucifer and the angels were actually a generation early. Samantha and Ben totally would have given the Apocalypse smackdown Heaven and Hell were itching for. Guys, I might be cooking...

Do y’all ever think about John maybe forgetting he had kids every once in a while? Like he’d go out on a hunt a few towns over, come back and drink himself into oblivion.

Or maybe just got back to where he’d been staying and he’s drunk. Obviously. And jumps a little when he sees two young boys.

Or maybe, and this one is more alternate universe, he convinced himself that his kids died in the fire too one time after going out and find a hunt that wasn’t actually a hunt, and again just drinking himself into a stupor, or maybe he got hexed. Or something.

I don’t know. I just. John being a negligent father.

(softly) Alastair making Dean call him Daddy in Hell. He calls him Princess. Dean is Alastair's blunt little instrument. Dean is hyper-sensitive to being feminized post-resurrection, notably flipping out on Bobby when he casually throws out a casual, "Gee, did I hurt your feelings, princess?" type comment. Dean's nobody's little girl, not any more.

It's criminal, absolutely criminal that Sam never got to interact with Cain. I just wanted Cain to say, "I never would have let Lucifer touch you," and it would have been protective and threatening and sexy all at once. Do you understand?? Do you see the vision??

Didn't wanna hijack, so a brief drabble-ish thing in response to this post:

Late season Dean losing it in the middle of Bed Bath & Beyond after Sam asks for the fiftieth time if he meant this pan set or that pan set (he thinks the old set in the bunker are fine; Dean disagrees) because Dad and Mom were like this, they did this. A memory ignites in his mind: him, maybe three; Mom, just starting to show; and Dad, rolling his eyes as they make their third lap around some home goods store. This or that microwave, these or those towels, and more pillows than anyone has practical use for.

Two people in love. Mundane. Domestic. What are he and Sam doing?

And then Sam asks for the fifty-first time and Dean shouts, I don't give a damn, you're not my damn wife! Everyone stares. Sam reaches out, concerned, but Dean shoves him away and storms off. That night, Sam doesn't come to bed (come to bed, he's been sharing a bed with his brother; what is he thinking?). Dean doesn't worry about it. It's the way it should be.

It's better this way.

I’m thinking about Mystery Spot again. And presumably Sam is the only one who remembers those 100some days, and the six months that follow, but what if he wasn’t.

What if Bobby remembered those six months that followed, if he remembered Sam sacrificing him to save Dean.

Oh, oh man, before I forget, two ideas I had while watching Southern Comfort (08x06):

Dean successfully shoots Sam while possessed by the vengeance-filled Confederate penny (lol, this show is fucking wild sometimes). Garth manages to to get the penny away from Dean before he kills Sam but Sam is still pretty badly hurt, as in he needs a hospital hurt. Cue Dean feeling horrified and doting on Sam during his recovery while Sam is all, "Whatever. I know how you really feel. We'll find Kevin and then I'll get out of your life. Forever. SO I CAN NEVER DISAPPOINT YOU AGAIN." And it's really just both of them being super pathetic.

And:

Sam gets the vengeance-filled Confederate penny (I'd call it the evil vengeance-filled Confederate penny but that's redundant 'cuz Confederate, lol) instead of Dean. Cut to him immediately leaving town to chase down Benny and chop his head off. Lots of Dean freaking out because his ex-boyfriend/brother is about to murder his on-again-off-again BFFWB (that's Best Friend Forever With Benefits)/fake brother. Extremely awkward conversations in the car as Garth forces Dean to explain to him what the hell is going on.

This episode is kinda mid but it sure is good fodder for some juicy angst.

Happy Friday the 13th, don't forget to watch that shitty slasher movie starring Jared Padalecki's tits. On a related note, did you know I've had a Friday the 13th remake/My Bloody Valentine 3D crossover fic lurking in my brain for like a decade now? Don't know why I'm telling you all this because it's never going to get written, but it's always there. Watching. Waiting. Like Jason Vorhees in the woods, but in between movies so he's not doing anything interesting.
