Ukyo x MC

Who wants to stay in bed just a little longer? Ukyo, typically. He loves him some sleep. Especially now that they have an actual bed, god damn. And there’s the whole “it’s finally over” mindset, even years after it ends.

Who leaves little notes in the other’s one lunch? (Bonus: what does it usually say?) MC, whenever she brings him lunch. She doesn’t really write anything, just a little heart. That’s more than enough.

What would be their theme song? “The Overpass” by Panic! at the Disco. Not totally sure why, but it just kinda… reminds me of them. It’s probably because the album came out either during or after my initial Amnesia kick.

Who wants to stay in bed just a little longer? Chizuru, actually. Mostly because Saito’s work ethic hasn’t changed, and there’s no real point to staying in bed. That’s not to say he never wants to stay, only that he tends to be ready to get up before Chizuru is.

Who leaves little notes in the other’s one lunch? (Bonus: what does it usually say?) Chizuru. They started as little reminders, per Saito’s request, but she gradually started including messages like “good luck today” or, in her bolder moods, “I’ll see you tonight” to give him something to look forward to. This usually ends up interfering with his concentration for a time, but he can never remember to ask her to stop.

What would be their theme song? I’m garbage and also depressed so here’s another P!atD song, one of my favorites, since I used it in a HakuMyu music video: “The Good, the Bad, and the Dirty”. My Vimeo account got taken down, though, so I still need to find another good place to host it…

Sakamoto x Chihiro

Who wants to stay in bed just a little longer? Sakamoto. Once Chihiro is awake, there’s not a lot of point in staying put, and he cuddles her enough already that she usually can’t be compelled to stay. Which leads to a lot of him calling her ‘heartless’, but no, she just has Things To Do.

Who leaves little notes in the other’s one lunch? (Bonus: what does it usually say?) Sakamoto insists it’d be cute if Chihiro did that, but the way she sees it, they’re hardly ever apart anyway. It’d be easier to just tell him she loves him, but she won’t even do that if he keeps needling her about it.

What would be their theme song? Hmm, haven’t actually thought about this. You know what, fuck it. More P!atD: “Collar Full”, because come to think of it, the tone fits them as well as the lyrics. (At least each of these songs are from different albums, so there’s a considerable amount of variety.)

I’m new to the blog, so I hope you don’t mind the question, but what do you mean when you say you’ve “beaten it into your head via self-insert” (in regards to the Heisuke and Harada asks)? I’m just curious :o

Oh, I’ve just been agonizing over a dual-self-insert (myself and the friend who got me into Hakuōki) for as long as I’ve been in the fandom, and it has a five-branch plot in which each of us end up on different routes. Because I started writing the thing so early, my opinions of the characters actually formed partially around whether or not they’re a “viable love interest”—that is, whether it’s me or my friend who gets that route. She got both Harada and Heisuke, so I tend to factor them out entirely when talking about my own preferences.

But in any case, welcome to the chaos!! I hope you enjoy your stay here, however long it may be~
