I like to think that Steve's rise to popularity has more to do with the fact that he participated in so many clubs and sports throughout high school to the point where he was just literally everywhere all the time doing everything.

I think it made Eddie even more irritated because it's easy to hate the jock but it's difficult to hate the same guy in chess club.

I'm trans too and I love me some good trans hcs. I've just seen a few sexuality/identity hc posts too many that hc'd both El and Max as trans masc/trans boys so the whole party ends up male. I don't think it's intentional by the people who have these hcs but where's my girlies? :(

Headcanon that Mike showed up to the airport in that goofy ass outfit because he was originally going to wear his hellfire shirt cause he thought it was sooo cool and wanted to show will. But before he got in the car for his mom to drive him to the airport, Dustin said something like sucks that Will was left out tho Yk. The party was so much better with him.

So Mike panicked cause he didn’t want to make will sad but his mom wouldn’t let him go change, so he had to buy an outfit at the airport gift shops.

Some low to high level angsty Dustin headcanons

Looooooves thunderstorms. Well, used to. Before trauma ruined it he enjoyed to sit and admire it. He loved to explain the science behind thunderstorms and he loved to see the force of nature in action. Now they remind him too much of the Upside Down - of sitting alone with Eddie’s dead body while the thunder drowned out his sobs. He hopes to one day view thunderstorms as a wonder again.

Claudia was the biggest people pleaser in her relationship with Walter, and the one time she stood up for herself (and Dustin) he left her. So Dustin has vowed to himself that he won’t ever change or make himself small for anyone. It’s why he has no problem speaking his mind to Ted and Hopper. But that doesn’t mean the abandonment issues aren’t still deeply ingrained in him. So the minute he senses someone pulling away/acting different with him and he can’t figure out the reason or if he makes a mistake he immediately thinks it’s game over and they’re gonna leave or replace him (headcanon supported by canon lol)

He’s weirdly obsessed with bruises? How do I explain this without sounding insane. When he was little Claudia used to fuss over him about his ccd and it made him feel fragile and delicate which he did not like, so he loved whenever he got a bruise bc he could show his mom that he survived he wasn’t broken. After Eddie’s death tho that obsession sorta changes to borderline self-harm. He liked the pain bc it helped to drown out his overwhelming thoughts of guilt and frankly he thought he deserved to hurt. But he didn’t want anyone to actually catch on to that so he would just “accidentally” get hurt and avoid his friends’ concern bc obviously it wasn’t on purpose duh. When his friends finally catch on and he works through that immense guilt of his he stops getting hurt accidentally on purpose. But after that those two weird obsessions sorta mix together to where he enjoys getting actually accidentally hurt a little too much. He gets to be in pain without having done the hurting intentionally. And also he can show off his bruises with causing alarm.
