Shiho Suzui aka Blaze from Valor and Discretion by @ceescedasticity (which is part of an incredible larger series Start Again - a Persona 5 NG+ fic where all the Phantom Thieves are thrown back in time at various points before the events of the main game. Scedacity has an incredible grasp and understanding of these characters. Highly recommend giving the series a read.)

I reread the whole series recently and remembered how I’ve wanted to draw things for it. Honestly, still itching to do character sheets and the new persona designs but for now the All Out screens were the most approachable pieces to do. Next up will be either Mishima or Hifumi. For the canon All Outs the characters are on the right side but I thought it would be nice to distinguish the New Thieves by having them be on the left.

Shiho technically uses swords but I gave her an epee as a callback to her persona La Maupin who is based on Julie D’aubigny (absolute icon). Probably any other dueling sword could have worked too but the pose was just too cool with the flexibility of epee. The golden mask was kept simple given that the brocade coat was quite ornamental already.

I couldn’t really tell the reason behind the Thieves’ catchphrases on their All Outs. None of the text seemed that profound though. So for Shiho I had “Time to steal your heart” (but that was too close to the general Thieves’ motto) so I changed it to “engarde.” Seems more fitting given the motifs of fencing, dueling, and La Maupin. Maybe I could have spent more that 5 minutes on this.
