I’ve been amusing myself with ficlets about various figures from the Appendix A listing of the House of Eorl. So far I’ve posted Folcwine and drafted Helm and Folca. Here’s my most recent, decontextualized line from Baldor and Aldor, where someone is about to go for glory on his own!

"The world doesn't care."

"Now come on that isn't fair S-," Scar tried to reason with Grian before the Avian snapped at him.

"It doesn't Scar! If the world cared I wouldn't be in this situation. I would know where my siblings were. I wouldn't feel so-so helpless. No one has ever looked in my direction. No one has ever offered to help me. I've always been alone."

Grian turned away from Scar, looking to the distance. "If the world actually cared, I would have never been as hurt as badly as I have been."

Grian jolted slightly as he felt Scar hug him from behind.

"...Well I'll make sure you don't have to go through any of this alone again. You deserve that much at least. If the world doesn't care then I'll care instead."

Rey swore she could feel her boss staring at her like she was an anomoly when really it was him that was out of place. She’d never heard of a submissive being a CEO of a company, let alone a Fortune 500 who’d just clinched the biggest merger of the last twenty years, yet there was that unmistakable sweet note in his scent when he came close enough. He stiffened as she took a deep breath, brow furrowing when she could hardly get a second. 

“I told them to hire a sub for my assistant position,” he growled under his breath, and she felt her cheeks color as she was reminded, yet again, why she was all wrong for this job. 

“Mr. Dameron seemed to think I’d be the best fit for the position, so he gave it to me. Sir.” 

The glance he shot her promised that the slip of the title didn’t go unnoticed, though she wasn’t so sure if it was a good or bad thing just yet.

I’m doing it! :D I got a pretty positive response to the idea, so I’ve been spending what little free time I have during the day to write down ALL the wewantwednesday submissions I’ve gotten (over 6 pages of notebook paper worth) so tomorrow I’ll give the first one a look and we’ll see what happens! I’m also supposed to be working on Untold Story revisions lol so I need to balance my free time! haha

"This is a lot easier to do with your hair than Navi’s," Rozlyn comments as she weaves a ribbons into the intricate braid she’s working on behind your head. Everyone else has already left for the city to get in a full day of festival going, but Roz asked if she could braid your hair, and you had inexplicably agreed, leaving the two of you alone in the quiet of the girls’ dorm.

"Well I would fucking hope so, I’ve seen what your Tundra gets up to," You drawl, turning your head back to fix her with a ‘look’ and getting a whap and a laugh in return; smiling, you settle back against her legs, closing your eyes and listening as she tells you about the pretty cook she has a crush on back home.
