Okay so, today has been a rather lazy day and I’ve been craving some Barbie movies (I swear I’ll never be too old for these!), so I started with one of the ones I adored most when it came out, and now all I can think about is a ghost hunt version of Barbie: Princess Charm School. Or maybe an Ouran or Skip Beat! (OMG A SKIP BEAT VERSION?!) take on it?
@ncisduckie lemme know when you’re free i wanna scream ideas at you please ;_;
so i think i'm gonna do the planning for the long long long long kurobasu multichapter fic i wanna write (gradually) here on tumblr
therefore! if you don't want to see these plans unfold and what not (and any other fanfic ideas i may have for whatever fandom/pairing etc in the future) please blacklist the tag "ficplans", the tag is subject to change but yeah!
sorry if this all comes off as jumbled and unorganized because it probably will, but there's a lot i wanna get down before i end up forgetting it all, haha. read if you dare, this is a huuuuge mass of text about this AU prompt
mm, okay, i'll try to discuss the general plot and characters first
it's kind of based off medieval times? i don't think i want to put anything futuristic into it since i want it to have a fantasy feel
castles and dragons and runes and magic and grand battles and ceremonies and what not, but at the same time i want it to be down to earth too and very real and historically accurate (putting aside the magic aspect) so i'll have to do some research
teiko kingdom/empire is widely feared by all as they have a secret trump card to be used in battles that hardly ever fails. formally known as the sun and moon of the empire, or as the people like to call them, their light and their shadow
obviously aomine takes the role of the sun and kuroko of the moon
and they pretty much have the best battle synergy... aomine specializes in swordplay and anything related to it. he can take out a thousand men with a big ass longsword that's twice his size or assassinate everyone in sight with a flurry of knives, and of course he can also imbue runic energy into his weapons making them that much more powerful (i'll get into runes later, such an interesting concept)
kuroko specializes in long range magic so he can support from the sidelines. his weakness is close combat as his more effective spells take time to cast, but he does have tricks up his sleeve in case he ever had to run into the battlefield or got caught out.
kagami comes in later but i'm going to refrain from going into details on him for a couple reasons, but he'll still play a massive part in all of this. i will say though, his fighting style pretty much mirrors aomine's save for the fact he powers his weapons up with fire/heat energy while aomine goes for something like ice (if we're speaking elemental powers here anyway because there's a lot more to the magic system than just elementals)
akashi is a prince and is also next in line for the throne-- he has his white horse and a fuckin fancy ass shogi (and chess) set and his own private library and lounge inside the main library there in the castle and yeah, he's living like the royalty he is. he's also one of the best archers in the kingdom-- though his skill doesn't lie in his aim or how fast/far he can shoot off an arrow, rather, he enchants his arrows with energy much like aomine can power up his swords etc. i wanna go more into this later too, when i touch on runes
midorima works as a doctor/healer in the main castle, though in his free time he serves as akashi's apprentice and learns how to enchant his arrows and bolts as well. takao is his assistant, hasn't really dabbled in the magics because he doesn't seem to have a knack for it, but he's extremely witty and sharp and fast
kise's a prince as well- technically related to akashi though not by blood (i haven't worked it how everyone's families tie in with each other yet so this is subject to change). he's... almost the exact opposite of akashi haha. he doesn't take his studies seriously and he gets bored really often... goes out to the towns to visit the people of the kingdom and flirts with the girls, does good deeds here and there... he's flashy and just about everyone loves him (also subject to change but i think that's how i want it to be; the only people that are gonna find him annoying = our main characters) he likes to watch over everyone's training and try to copy the more advanced moves he hasn't been taught yet (and tends to succeed in a lot of cases considering he's able to pick things up easily)
murasakibara worked in the mines with his father and older siblings as a kid and eventually became head of defense, even though he's pretty darn young. he helps fortify the castle and keeps it strong and he's come up with a lot of the kingdom's current defense & emergency plans in case of attack so he's fuckin awesome. though he technically doesn't have to lift a finger considering he's in a position of leadership he does routine maintenance and you can almost always find him inspecting the walls or down in the mines. he acts lazy and pretends like he hates his job but he really fuckin loves it, especially since he gets free food a lot of the time (and tends to sneak down to the castle's bakery at night when everything is closed and the bakers are working to bake bread for the next day)
himuro works as a baker for the royal bakery, fills in as chef sometimes too. when it comes to combat he's very well rounded. he has a different type of swordplay from the rest of the empire as he was raised in another kingdom, the same one kagami came from, but it's still very strong and he's proud of it and proud of himself for teaching taiga how to wield a sword. he gets jealous here and there though since he's seemingly not cut out for magic either, and upon moving to this kingdom, he chose to lie low for a while to earn a living peacefully. he's also very pretty
oh yeah, kasamatsu is probably going to be kise's personal assistant and adviser. makes sure kise knows his frickin place and gets things done. kiyoshi works part time in a childcare place because he loves kids and people, and he's always in and out of the bakery and the royal library... so he gets around a lot. he knows quite a bit about the kingdom because he likes to wander to those places nobody ever really goes. also, hyuuga works as a dungeon guard (subject to change) and riko trains soldiers (also subject to change) so yeah, he's close with them
considering making momoi either akashi's personal adviser (i really like the idea of akamomo especially in an au like this-- also, akashi would have a queen!!) or a double spy/intel agent... hmm
i need to determine who the king is because he's basically gonna be a shitty person in disguise and the gom are gonna come together and force him to give up the throne so akashi can rightfully take it and make the kingdom a better place. problems with slaves and unlawful torture and sex trafficking and drug dealing etc. bad magics being used. people being locked up in the dungeon when they shouldn't be.
also! the dungeon i'm referring to is in no way your average dungeon. it's a long spiral staircase downwards below the castle to god knows where, miles below the earth, and the deeper you go the more likely you are to go insane. not a lot of people in the kingdom know what's at the very bottom as the cells located down there are reserved for the worst of the worst and it smells like dead bodies and rotting eggs etc... you hear noises you shouldn't be hearing... there's not a single light around... and you only get fed if A. there's a guard brave enough on duty to go down and feed you and B. there's enough scraps of food left over from all the other prisoners above you
where you're locked away is dependent on the level of crime... the pettier crimes get you locked up near the top where it isn't so bad and there's plenty of lights and you get served meals first. no scary noises, no gross smells. quite a normal cell. ah... also, about the deeper cells in the dungeons-- the bottom is quite literally a labyrinth. as you get closer to the labyrinth you can feel negative energy seeping in through the walls... the torches appear dimmer even though they're identical to the ones at the top. there's dark magic hidden under the castle and it's apparently within the labyrinth that nobody really ventures into, as the cells at the bottom are right next to the labyrinth's entrance
i'll probably make a post about runes and enchanting arrows and powering up weapons tomorrow after sleep and the doctors
if anyone actually read through this and is interested-- if you want to see more, feel free to leave a message! or if you have any questions!! i really appreciate you reading this far, anyone that actually did! i really hope i can get the motivation to at least start on this because i love the idea so much ;v;
So I'm writing Tahmon right now and I ain't even ashamed. I just see Amon kidnapping him and doing awful things to him to not just take his bending away, but to take his humanity away too *u*
Anyway, it's still in the brainvomit stage but I like what I've formed so far.
