[Shino x Tenten] - Ice Cream Date Headcanons
What's their respective favourites?
I headcanon that neither Shino, or his father, likes sweet treats. He'll taste them if someone made them for him (have that in a few stories!), but he wouldn't go out of his way to eat them. Still, he won't leave Tenten to be the only one eating, so he would order the smallest, simplest thing on the menu, a small helping of vanilla or strawberry, in a tub not a cone (that comes in later). Still, I think he would put on a few non-sweet toppings on it to have something to secretly munch on, like some almonds or slices of fruit if it's available.
Tenten, however, definitely has a sweet tooth! Nothing too crazy, so I reckon she would get a medium size cone helping with a flavour slightly outside the basic, like a pooh bear or a mint chocolate chip. But, of course, she wouldn't pile on the toppings either; she's here for the ice cream itself, so she'll add a few sprinkles and maybe some marshmallows.
They'll playfully argue over who pays; the cashier will freak when beetles start crawling over the counter holding money.
Tenten will teasingly call his hive traitors, Shino will hide his smirk as he heads for the door.
Both of them love being outside too much to sit in, I think. They would go for a walk around the Aburame gardens, chatting away, admiring flowers and insects alike, greeting other Aburame's they happen to run into.

I have this headcanon that part of the Aburame compound holds an apiary, and because of Tenten's sweet tooth, she also really likes honey.
This is where Shino's tub comes in! He's barely touched the ice cream in his tub but will, just before heading to the apiary, move the ice cream into a bowl and water it down a bit.
Tenten will sit in the grass near enough that she can see and eagerly watch Shino set the bowl off to the side to allow the bees to take the sugar from the ice cream, and he will entertain his girlfriend by taking a few scoops of honey from one of the pallets and put that in the emptied tub.
He'll offer the honey-filled tub to Tenten, and she will happily cuddle up to his side, watching the bees buzz around as she eats the goldenly gooey treat.
Shino won't take any honey himself, but he will kiss the corner of her lips if she happens to leave some there; they both know she's leaving some there on purpose.
