Being a fictionflickerer is actually hard and nobody talks about it. I know we all have fun here but can I? Flickers don't really leave you. Every flicker in your life adheres itself to your personality and informs who you'll be going forward. How can I describe the feeling of having this part of you that actually kind of sucks to go through and it's dissociating and burdensome but literally makes you who you are today to the point where you don't know who you'd be without it? Of flickering a character who's cruel or kills people or is so far away from who you are now or want to be and knowing that flickers never really leave you? That some piece of you will always be influenced by this character? I was always a fictionflickerer even before I found the community and I grew up feeling like a monster. Doomed to hurt people because of the characters I flickered who hurt people and wondering what piece of me was finding itself in this character.
