Random rambling, slight mention of religious trauma so maybe proceed with caution? Not so sure how triggering it'd be. Also not a vent ^^
And before anyone accuses me, no I DO NOT HATE ALL CHRISTIANS ffs 💀 I hate the religion itself, not the majority of the religious people
As someone who was raised Christian(mostly by my mom, my dad is atheist but typically went to support us) I find the song Collared by Vane Lily such a powerful song.
So, like, in Christianity, you're expected to be "pure" or whatever. And then if you're not pure or do something bad, you gotta repent, idk I never fully understood the religions rules. They never got explained to me in a way I'd get, so- anyway. I was technically never forced to repent or anything but I was often told by my peers I should. See, all my friends growing up were girls. Well, every friendship that worked was with a girl, the boys all sucked because their parents didn't raise them right. So, because I was always around girls, I tended to have more feminine tastes. I liked makeup. I liked dresses(I did have "masculine" interests too and still do but not the point.)
For a lot of Christians, a boy deciding to be feminine is the end of the world for some reason. My parents didn't care about it, my mom even tried helping with makeup one time, but the others did not like it at all. I was told I was sinning for being gay. I didn't even know what being gay was. Some of them were getting all paranoid about me possibly being trans too(They were kinda right? I'm under the trans umbrella but don't identify exactly as trans.) Basically they were whiny about non-issues.
I never did anything to "fix" it because my dad said I didn't have to. The pressure got way worse when I began puberty though. They tought us sex was bad(then how tf were you made? But anyway..) And being a kid with developing hormones, I was obviously getting horny. I was so worried I was making God mad at me— I HIT PUBERTY AT 9 BY THE WAY— so I was 9 and panicking about upsetting a being that honestly probably doesn't exist.
I'm healed from all that now so don't worry, but back to what I introduced this little ramble with. Collared. Amazing song. Absolutely peak. It makes me feel so seen omg. It feels like reclaiming my identity when it's been shunned as a child. Vane Lily is an amazing producer with amazing songs, I love them so much support them please OMGGGGGG it's like Vane stole my thoughts right from my brain and put them in a song.
But uh anyway, now I'm proudly agender and queer, and I don't have anyone to have a tantrum about it anymore! :D I love being queer so like fuck y'all in the past who said it was wrong. And also fuck y'all who said sex and sexual urges was bad, we're humans and humans get horny. Even asexuals like myself, because asexuality just means little to no sexual attraction to OTHER PEOPLE. That doesn't mean no sexual urges. I'm a teen, I'm experiencing puberty, I'm gonna be horny. Thats just a fact. I'm also fictosexual so- but yeah, moral of the story, listen to Vane Lily. Byeeeeee!!!!
