Moscow: United Communist Party activists attend opening of monument to Fidel Castro

In Moscow, on Nov. 22, 2022, on Fidel Castro Square, the grand opening of the monument to the great commander and leader of the Cuban Revolution took place. Following Cuban President and First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel, the communists of the United Communist Party together with representatives of allied left organizations laid flowers at the open monument.

Fidel’s guidance in all of Cuba’s struggles

These days Cuba is recovering from an unprecedented fire, which has kept Matanzas, the whole island, and especially rescuers, firefighters, and authorities on full alert since the night of August 5. However, amid pain and agony, Cuba has one great consolation: since 1959, the people have never been alone in struggles, accidents, or catastrophes of any kind. Fidel never permitted it. Today, when the island remembers the 96th anniversary of his birth, the sixth that has passed without his physical presence, the people proved once again that his ideas and his example do not abandon them.

Report from Havana: Fidel Castro Center, a profound experience

We were honored to be the first delegation to visit the Fidel Castro Ruz Center in Havana. 

The accessibility of the museum is a testament to the Cubans’ dedication to the next generation, and this is also shown in the detailed preservation of history. The Center contains more details than you could imagine, presented in a digestible way. Visiting is like reading several books on Cuban history.

Havana: Evening tribute to Fidel

On the historic staircase of the University of Havana, Cuban university students together with the President of the Republic Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and other leaders and personalities were part of a political-cultural evening for the third anniversary of the death of our beloved Commander in Chief.

The first secretary of the National Committee of the Young Communist Union (UJC), Susely Morfa, in speaking, highlighted the role played by youth in the permanent defense of Fidel's legacy. She also referred to the influence of his thought and work among current generations for its remarkable validity.

Going back to Fidel Castro’s passion of transforming politics into something feasible regardless of having to face a thousand adversities on the way.

Back to his lessons about the necessary combination between mass struggle and armed struggle to achieve conclusive victories like the one reached by Cuba during these sixty years of existence. Sound victories that are not taken out with coups or conspiracies, as U.S. imperialism has always desired.

Going back to Fidel is to continue imagining a socialist Revolution like the one he built to prove that the path is already marked. The only thing we have to do, as Uruguayan folk singer Daniel Viglietti would sing, is start walking.
