space stimboard with fidget cubes and fidget pens!

Hello! Please meet the Fidgi Pen!
This pen can give you a secure feeling, as you can stim/fidget with it without people really noticing. (at least that’s what it would do for me!)
Here’s the kickstarter! Can’t wait to see it in stores!
[image description: two foldable pens sitting on a red watermelon slice pillow. Each pen has four hinged segments--blue, green, red and yellow--attached to each other with a black ballpoint pen tip at one end and a blue plastic loop attachment linked to a phone charm cord at the other. The hinges are slots which allow each segment to be fulled forwards and then bent at a variety of angles. The topmost pen sits unfolded, in a straight line; the bottommost pen has been bent to form a “W” shape.]
Foldable Pen - eBay, $0.99 USD for two.
Dimensions: 14.5 x 1.1 cm
Item has free standard international shipping. I paid $0.94 USD because the seller had (and still has) a buy-three-get-5%-off deal.
If you’re after a stealth stim toy that works well in an office or classroom, or can be attached to a lanyard, keychain or belt loop, I think this is the pen for you.
The downside to this pen is that I don’t think it’ll last long if you intend to use it for more than casual writing. The ink tube only runs the length of the black and blue segments; the other segments are hollow, allowing for the bending/folding feature. There’s also no cap, which makes this pen problematic for pocket use, and I did tend to accidentally drag the pen tip over my jeans and shirt while stimming with it.
(I think this might be ideal in a warehouse environment, where you usually want a pen to hand but don’t care about clothing stains--I know that I’d have loved to have these when I worked in retail distribution!)
As a stim toy, there’s not a lot of shapes you can make with it; it’s not a good puzzle toy. I like the way you have to pull each segment forwards to fold the pen, as it means the pen won’t accidentally fold while in use as a pen. Like a Tangle, though, it’s ideal for repeating the same few bends and twists over and over, and I found myself using this for quite a long time while reading.
The segments make a slight clicking noise when pulled forwards, but it is nowhere near as intrusive as an actual click pen. It might be annoying in a very quiet space, but otherwise I don’t believe it will be a concern for most. The real noise is made by the oyster clasp rattling against the plastic loop at the top of the pen, but that can be switched out for a piece of string or elastic.
For a super inexpensive toy--less than $0.50 USD each--I’m quite pleased with this. I’d prefer a cap on the end of the pen, but I rather like the simplicity of bending the segments back and forth.
I just received a fidgi pen in the mail and I'm so excited!! It came with two extra ink cartridges and it has a bunch of different ways to fidget with it!! This will be great when I start college 😄
