“Do you like it?” Fidias asked. He curled up close to Paatni and their treat-to-be-shared. However, his spoon closer, poised in the air, ready to dive into the final serving of chocolate mousse in the pantry.
Paatni nodded and closed her eyes, shutting the rest of her senses away from the world to focus entirely on the mousse’s heavenly taste. She pulled the spoon through her lips slowly and savored every bit from her first bite. “It’s so good... I haven’t had anything this sweet in ages.” Paatni tipped the teeny bowl towards Fidias. He dove in with gusto.
“That’s good. I knew you’d like it. I’ve been eating it every night for the past couple days,” said Fidias. He smudged his finger around the corners of his mouth to wipe away traces of chocolate.
Paatni’s eyebrows scrunched together. “Wait,” she said, “how long have we had this?”
Fidias set his spoon in his lap to stop himself from stealing Paatni’s last few bites. “We haven’t had it. It’s Bo’s,” he said, his face blank.
Fidias sat on his hands and shrugged his shoulders. “I’ve been stealing it from Bo’s dessert pantry.”
