Look who’s back! No, not the #Stratocaster. No not the #Marshall cabinet! The 1946/47 #Fender #Princeton “Woodie” (the tiny box on top!) is back home...AND IT’S WORKING AGAIN, thanks to @marshalllespaulfan’s work! I’ll do a detailed post on what was specifically done to get the amp functioning again but briefly, the output transformer was replaced and it has been temporarily wired for an external speaker (hence the 4 x 10 it is perched upon! 😀). Yep that little Woodie is driving that big ol’ Marshall cabinet! It’s going to remain like that until we can get the original #Jensen #fieldcoilspeaker rewound by some mythical unicorn of a repair technician that we have yet to find! This person may or may not exist in the world...we just don’t know until we find them. One more (OK...nine more) shot(s) of the 1946*/47 #Fender #Princeton and then I promise (🤞) there’ll be no more photos until I get it up and running. 😀 . . Take a look at that crazy “control” panel (photos 1 and 9). Notice anything? NO CONTROLS! No power switch, no volume or tone knob...just two inputs! You just plug it in to turn it on, and use the volume and tone on your #guitar to control it! 😀 What’s in each photo: 1) rear view of #amp 2) close up of #Jensenspeaker label. 3) “City of Los Angeles Approved” sticker. Anyone know what this is? Is it the 1940s equivalent of the UL or CSA (in Canada) label? 4) Side view of the speaker’s field coil (?). Is that the field coil...where the magnet would be on a modern speaker? I’m still trying to figure this stuff out! 😆 5) Speaker code stamped on edge of basket. 6) “Sta-Tite” 2 pronger! 😀 7) “Inca” brand power transformer. 8) Um...choke? Output transformer? Would it need an OT with a field coil? Anyone?? 9) 2nd rear view. .
