Did Paetra and Clover ever want/talk about having kids? How do they feel about this in relation to verity coming into their lives?
It wasn't really a discussion they'd had before- they figured they had a handful just taking care of themselves and each other, and Clover in particular didn't want to deal with giving a child the same heartbreak he experienced with his own parents.
They do respect Verity as an autonomous adult, and consider themselves more stars caretakers than stars parents... but Verity trusts them deeply as older authority figures that star can rely on, and that are willing to guide star. Star isn't sure when star started thinking of them as stars parents, but when star brought it up, Paetra and Clover were stunned and honored.

These two are both So delusions and Clover in particular almost certainly has some form of OCD. I've talked about his germophobia and thanatophobia and this lends itself to like, absolute terror and paranoia about safety and wellness, but Paetra is also often paranoid about being watched and persecuted and it is for the best she has a low stakes job and not anything involving espionage like she wanted as a kid
They hold each other as steady as they can because they're really the only other ones that Get It. They get stuck in their heads and it's scary for them but neither of them think the other is a scary or exhausting person about it and they do what they can to ground each other
