For #FieldNotesFriday: A Red-Shouldered hawk landed in a tree near me and ate a meal! It was like the Discovery channel in a suburban park. :) I plan to share the video when I can get past a few technical hurdles. Don't worry; it's not gross.

For this Field Notes Friday, I nature-journaled and blogged! (Exclamation point because I haven't done that much lately.) I needed some nature time and outdoor meditation. Know the feeling? There's a link in the blog to the Sam Harris guided meditation I used to find some mind space.

#FieldNotesFriday I think s/he was dying. She didn't so much land on me as crash into me. I picked her up and held her strong, gripping legs between the soft pads of my fingers. A few days ago, she lived, but now she's probably dead. #SignsofFall #odonata #urbanwildlife (at Denton, Texas)
