My answers were most definitely based on ethnic identity, especially when concerning hair products. To my, they are a necessity because without hair products I would not be able to make my hair look more culturally acceptable in a setting of professionalism.
Many of these items were not made in the United States. They come from industrialized countries that have thousands of factories. Globalization plays a part, especially flexible accumulation since companies are able to export their business into countries that can produce cheap labor.
