All good things come to an end. Cleaning up the club after the drunken and drugged left for the morning had always proven to be a game of expert hide-and-seek. Kemuel’s found passed out guests toppled over one another in the bathrooms, one near the edge of the dance floor, and a few miraculously hanging on the ceiling’s crossbeams by the sheer will of their legs. How they managed to climb up there was anyone’s guess.
He mopped up the floor for a good half hour, brow glistening in the dim lighting as he dropped a ‘wet floor’ sign and then went to dispose of the dirty water. The demon returned in time to find the others cleaning around the bar and tables, while one in particular overlooked the booths. Kemuel walked forward, feet relatively quiet on the ground as he neared the other. It was oddly quiet this time. Did any of his coworkers indulge on the clock?
“Have any plans after this?” He spoke up, head askew as his eyes wandered Wyl’s features, assessing what mood the demon was in. Kemuel’s barely aware of his life beyond the club, let alone his own life, yet there was an inkling that the demon had something to him the others lacked.
Friends, family?
Kemuel’s not sure if he had either, after his plummet from grace three years ago. He had to start somewhere, even in the most awkward of circumstances. “I may walk around for a bit, maybe catch the sunrise later.”
