I was wondering what fabric you used for your Akane dress and how you added the patterns on the edge?

the fabric was a stretch sateen! it was actually the only thing close to the color i wanted at my joann fabrics that wasn’t a knit, but i ended up really liking it so it worked out well.

for the pattern i just made a stencil on stiff paper and then penciled it onto the edge of my dress after i sewed it but before i added the bias tap on the hem. i really shouldve used fabric paint for it, but i only had acrylic and i was on a time crunch to finish it so i could do an on location photoshoot so i just used black acrylic and the teeniest paintbrush i could find and painted it on as carefully as i could.
