Have y’all been to Hidori on the NW corner of Southern / Dobson (where Fiesta District Mesa and Asia Town Mesa meet) I order the bibim bap. It’s deliciously full of natural savory and sweet flavors and I always add the extra spicy sauce. As always the ban Chan is delightful. The kimchi and fish cakes are outstanding. I had a moment to reflect and try a new place called Asiana Tofu Grill. It is located by me in West Mesa, border of Fiesta District and Asian Town Mesa. I’m on a soup kick, eating healthy and mostly veggie. I had the kimchi-soon soup. It came to me smoldering, full of tofu, delicious kimchi and mushrooms and a raw egg yolk. This is huge news! With the recent sale of the Fiesta Mall, the Grace Family in the planning stages of developing their property on the NW corner of Alma School and Southern, the old borders/Best Buy plaza (across from the mall on the east side of Alma school) and now the Bank of America building being sold, we are looking at a total make over of the Fiesta District Mesa! I think it's time for another stakeholders meeting where all the land holders / developers show plans or visions for the property and we talk about next level cooperation and development that accents each other and the area. This is an excellent opportunity for a turnaround of this area. Yesterday I finally got to try the Gangnambbq on Longmore in Korea Mart Mesa. M-F it is $14.99 all you can eat. It's the first all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ in Mesa. The food is delicious and freshly cut. I talked to the manager and chefs and they gave myself and James Park, my foodie partner & cohost, a tour and run down. The place is packed lunch to dinner. It's very worth it. The whole complex is coming together nicely under the management of owner Mr. Lee and is an excellent addition to the Fiesta District Mesa.
