Fievel (An American Tail)
An American Tail is a 1986 animated musical/adventure directed by Don Bluth, written by Judy Freudberg and Tony Geiss and produced by Universal Pictures. The story centers on Fievel Mousekewitz, a young Russia, Jewish mouse who has emigrated with his family to the United States. Fievel gets lost along the way and embarks on many perilous adventures in his efforts to be reunited with his family. The young mouse ultimately finds his parents and the Mousekewitz family begins their new life in America.
Actor Phillip Glasser provided the voice for Fievel; with the rest of the ensemble cast including John Finnegan, Erica Yohn, Dom DeLuise, Madeline Kahn and Christopher Plummer. A substantial box office hit, the movie’s success led to a 1991 theatrical sequel, an animated television series and two direct-to-home-media movies.
