giving thanks for a year of firsts 🌟 The Lifetime movie #lovebythe10thdate premiered in January and featured my work all up in it (Massive love to director @nzingbling for believing in my work for this project!), my first US based solo exhibition opened in June at @viragogallery in Seattle (incredible love to Tracy for welcoming me into her space and to @iamrezina for spearheading the publication of the Matters of Inheritance collectors book which featured writings from phenomenal women of colour). Give thanks for the doors opened ♡ I collaborated with Scotiabank Trinidad and Tobago for their Women Against Breast Cancer 5K - a huge honour. I got to see my work as the face of the Festival International de Film Insulaire du Groix in Brittany, France. A Vetiver Night Woman is on the cover of Eve Ewing's stellar collection Electric Arches. And so many other things I didn't think I'd ever do. I'm not sure I know how to feel. But I do feel overwhelmingly humbled and grateful. It's been a sobering year for so many reasons - a year or revelation and refined clarity. Thank you to the people who stood by me, believed in me, encouraged me - blessings and light to you!
