Regional MMA is about to take another huge blow.
Invicta Phoenix Series 3 will have a distinctly bantamweight flavor.
The UFC should swoop in and just sign everyone in the tournament. Sometimes ya gotta be mean and get shit done.
UFC Fight Pass no longer has the ADCC streaming rights that they just recently announced.
Lol
back to FloSports for ADCC as the deal with Fight Pass falls apart 4 months after being announced.
One of MMA’s top regional organizations, Cage Fury Fighting Championships, is the latest addition to the UFC Fight Pass lineup.
Removing Bellator and UFC, I think I prefer DAZN over the Fight Pass line up for MMA but CFFC is a fine get for Fight Pass.
Titan FC is LIVE on FIGHT PASS for Titan FC 50 with 2 belts on the line! Lightweights Raush Manfio and Sidney Outlaw clash in the main event. Additionally, welterweights Jose Caceres and Uros Jurisic highlight the co-main event.
It's been a minute since I kept up with Titan FC but they've got a Fight Pass card tonight. I'm a little bit bummed at the lack of top shelf Latin talent on it but there's still some out there to get at the very least intrigued by. Gustavo Balart and Alberto Blas, two of Cuba's top talents, are coming off of their first pro losses as they stroll into this card but I'm still excited to see Balart and whatever adjustments he might've made. It is worth mentioning, perhaps time and time again, that Balart is an attraction if for no other reason than by being MMA's closest thing to a fighting dwarf. Raush Manfio has won 6 of his last 7 fights (the loss is to UFC/DWTCS signee Matt Frevola) and is attempting to make his second defense of the Titan FC lightweight title. He's facing Sydney Outlaw who fought on the Contenders Series and has a respectable long tenured run as one of the East Coast's finest regional veterans. Jose Caceres vs Usos Jurisic is the co-main event and Caceres is one of those guys like a Sydney Outlaw who has fought the entire world at this point on the regional scene. Beibit Nazarov's most recent loss was to Lipeng Zhang formerly of the UFC but at 15-2, dude's got a real chance to wind up fighting int he UFC someday. The appeal to Titan FC for me has always been their appreciation and development of latin american and south american fighters and this card has 4 Brazilians, 3 Cubans, 3 Argentinians and 1 Dominican. I'm all about that.
Jose Torres wins by 2nd round KO over Jarred Brooks
Oooof on SO SO SO SO many levels. Brooks had a dominant first round, pieced up Torres on the feet, dropped him with a spinning backfist and just looked a lot stronger than a dude who has comfortably fought at 135 lb before. Torres had a slightly better second round but it still felt like Brooks was cruising. Brooks either tried to put a bit too much stank on a slam or was feeling his oates a bit too much and KO'd himself on a slam. Torres follows up with some vicious ground and pound and talk about your hail mary wins.
Torres is WORLDS better than he showed here so I'm not leaving this bandwagon. I hope. I'm left to hope because if that's what he's bringing to the table at the UFC level then it's not gonna be very pretty. One of the weaknesses of Torres during his Titan FC stuff was that he had a willingness to trade with guys which in turn left him prone to flash KDs similar to Kelvin Gastelum. There aren't a lot of Brooks types at 125 lbs so I don't expect him to touch canvas again in a fashion like that at flyweight. Striking defense needs a lot of work.
Mohmmed Usman is an undefeated HW, former college football player and brother of Kamaru USman. He’ll be fighting on Victory FC on Saturday on Fight Pass. He might be the next big HW.
Alaska Fighting Championship up now
OMG they have Modelo sponsors and legit fight graphics now. Who did this to my regional org?!
