their break-up had been inevitable after their rescue with the noose the public made for them with expectations that were never met . one after another until finally peyton needed her space and with that , the two separated . days turn into a week , a week into weeks and cole has done nothing besides feel at fault . one drink became two drinks and easily the empty bottles of alcohol grew on his coffee table until he finally decided where he wanted to be .
out of the uber , cole approaches her front door with an overwhelming eagerness and gives it a few heavy knocks before he braces himself on the adjacent wall . a furrow with his brows and he begins to concentrate on his breathing , to the point it becomes obvious that he’s intoxicated . “ peyton ! ... please open the door , ” his voice begins loud and strong , pausing unusually before his sentence finished .
