"The leaden sky was lit by green flashes, cylinder following cylinder. And no one and nothing was left now to fight them. The Earth belonged to the Martians"
I got hit with an intense motivation/art block recently so I just kinda did this as more of an experiment with Clip Studio's animation capabilities. I really like experimenting with the Fighting Machines because the album gives me inspiration just in general.
It taught me a few things about Clip Studio that I didn't know and that's what I wanted, even if it's not refined. I really wanted to go for The Fighting Machines being capable of moving through the night silently despite their size.

This piece started out as a design for one of April 2024’s Patreon Rewards before I decided to go with a look closer to the original book illustrations. However, I kept the sketch around and eventually decided to continue working on it on my own free time, refining it as I saw fit.
If I end up making a War Of The Worlds adaptation, the tripods will most likely look like this:
It is based off of the world’s first tank created by Leonardo Da Vince.
