🌴COCONUTS🌴 Yes that's right... coconuts! One of my saving graces throughout chemo was all things coconut: coconut oil, coconut milk, coconut sugar (it's a natural un-refined sugar) but most importantly coconut water, FRESH out of a young baby coconut- green or orange in colour. Fresh water from a young coconut is almost clear, not white. Drinking the coconut water fresh from the coconut is very beneficial. (NOT bottled coconut water) The top of the coconut should be cut off and the water should be drunk within around 30-60 minutes. The more air that gets to the water, the less nutrients it contains. Fresh coconut water is full of electrolytes, nutrients and minerals, such as: potassium, calcium, magnesium, sodium and phosphorus. The water is also a great source of antioxidants. In Asian countries, the water from green coconuts is used for medicinal purposes. The electrolytes in the water help to replenish cells. It can also help settle nausea, stomach upset and may also help to lower blood pressure. I used to drink the water (1 coconut a day) two days before I was to start chemo, the chemo day and then for five days after chemo was finished. It worked wonders for me and would help me feel better far quicker. I recommended coconut water to two others I know that were having chemo and they too said drinking the water had made a bit difference! #YouPutAStrawInTheCoconutAndDrinkThatShitUp #fuckcancer #blogit #fightwithin #coconutwater #chemosucks
