Alice Maher at Kevin Kavanagh
Tonight, I attended the opening of Alice Maher's exhibition 'The Sibyls' at the Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, Chancery Lane, Dublin 8. The venue was packed. Loved the detailed drawing of hair in all of Alice's drawings.
The Sibyls were women who lived apart from society in ancient times. Many believed that these women could foretell the future.
Alice's exhibition will run until 11th Oct 2025.
My favourite drawing is 'Sibyl III' because it appears different from the others. The nude figure is bent under her nest of hair instead of balanced on top of it.
