@fiightcrs ♥ starter call for mcsweeten!
this is something that would be far more suited for sophie, she thinks. even nate and hardison are a better choice. but sophie says she’s the closest to mcsweeten-- that it would mean the most coming from her. so she stands awkwardly at the agent’s door, a bouquet of supermarket flowers (that she actually paid for!) dangling from her hand, sorry for your loss scrawled in plastic among the petals.
parker doesn’t know how to connect to a loss like this-- her own stepdad’s death had been a gleeful occurrence-- but she’s learned enough to know mcsweeten is hurting. and some part of her hurts, too. her brief conversations with peter mcsweeten and the things they’ve learned over the course of the job have told her he loved his son, and his son is her friend, and that’s enough to cause a little tightness in her chest.
it takes her a moment to be ready, but with a deep breath, she raises a hand and knocks a little too loudly on the fbi agent’s door.
“agent mcsweeten? it’s me, par-- special agent hagen.”
