Miles sits in wait outside the schools infirmary, twiddling his thumbs in his lap and staring at the clock as the seconds ticks by. Pheonix has been inside for aaages, and its way past the end of school time (school ends at 4PM, it’s currenly 4:27PM), all of the buses would have left by now which means a long trek home.
Yet still, Miles waits, wondering what had happened and why it was taking so long. Had Pheonix been in a fight? Had he broken a bone? Miles can’t help but worry for his best - his only- friend, which is exactly the reason he is still sat here in wait.
