Force me down on my knees and-’ Clearing his throat to discard they wayward lusty thoughts he gave Wren a nod, letting him know that was all and he could leave if he wished to.

Iridessa stiffened as arms suddenly wrapped around her waist, before she relaxed a second later, recognizing the muscular arms and the warm chest behind her. She shut off the water from the faucet and took off her gloves, ignoring the bit of dishes left to be washed. “Hey, I didn’t hear you come in.”

She looked up with a smile, letting out a giggle as Wren leaned down to press his lips to her forehead. He spoke lowly, squeezing his arms that were still wrapped around her, “I know. I heard you singing from the door, quite loudly, at that.”

“Oh god…” Iridessa said under her breath, turning in his arms to face him with a small pout. “…How much did you hear?” 

“I walked in around the time you switched from Fall Out Boy to a song with rather interesting lyrics.” 

“R-really? And what lyrics could those be?” She tried to play it off as though she wasn’t sure what he was referring to, but both of them knew she did. 

Wren chuckled at the way a flush had grown on her cheeks, his arms loosening from around her waist so his hands could move lower. He picked Iridessa up easily, setting her on the counter beside them so that they were eye-level, trapping her with his body and arms. “Well, I believe they went along the lines of: …Nothing’s ever as it seems. You make me wanna scream, make me wanna scream… Were you singing that song for a reason, sweetheart?” 

“…Well, you do make me want to scream… because you’re so irritating, obviously. Really Wren, you just drive me insane!” Iridessa gave a nonchalant shrug, the amusement in her eyes clear as she smiled cheekily at him. 

“Is that so?” Wren arched an eyebrow at her, a smirk still curved along his lips. 

“Of course! You’re just the worst, I totally hate you.” Iridessa grinned, sarcasm dripping from her tone.  

Wren feigned pain, holding a hand over his heart. “Wow, I’m hurt. And to think, here I was believing we had something together. My heart is completely broken.”

“Oh no, you poor soul!” Mirth sparkled in her eyes as she giggled, taking a breath before she continued, “Just to save your fragile heart, surprise, I don’t hate you. But would it kill you to tell me when you get home?”

“And interrupt your singing? I think not, as I enjoy hearing you sing. You should do it more.” 

Iridessa’s nose wrinkled up. “My voice isn’t all that great, stop that.” 

“Your voice is lovely.” Wren was still wearing his contacts, so his blue eyes bore into hers as he leaned in closer, his hands moving so his fingers trailed over her thighs. “And speaking of your voice… As you were singing about screaming earlier, how about I actually make you scream for me, sweetheart?”

Weeeell, listen! I swore to never tell this story but you’re cuuuute, so let’s keep it between us, okay? 

You know how pretty guys are the worst, right? Like how are they fair? It’s baffling! I’m super short, so lots of them are taller than me, and then they come up in here with pretty eyes and nice hair and smiles and muscles and voices--

That wasn’t my point, was it? No, no, it wasn’t...  Oh, story! This one time, Carrie was kind enough to lend me a pair of handcuffs, right? And like, it was definitely a fun time! Like wow, 10/10 would do again! But they belonged to Sparky. How could she play me like that? Why didn’t she tell me first?? It was a a real tragedy, let me tell you!

But, but! I remembered to return them! ...I might have been... a little drunk...? And Sam is pretty and pretty guys are unfair--and he also had just gotten home from work so he was still in uniform! So um, I allegedly said something like: “Sorry for stealing these, Sam! Though... I wouldn’t mind if you arrested me with them. So, are you going to arrest me, Officer?”

And what happened after is a secret, shhhhh!
