Peculiar Tove Jansson piece I’ve seen circulating on the web with no real source. Going by the image aesthetic, the included characters and how developed their looks are, I’d date this to around the late 50s.

Here’s an often forgotten 1960s painting by Tove Jansson commissioned by Göran Åkerhielm, he requested wild cliffsides, hysterical fillyjonks and a sea monster. The painting was originally located at Källskär, Åland, until it was later moved to the art museum in Mariehamn, also Åland.
