@Regranned from @abelchungu - South African Rapper Cassper Nyovest finally did his long awaited concert tittled Fill up FNB stadium. Though the stadium has a capacity of 75,000, he still got 68,000 people in attendance. This was the third highest attended concert in the World since 2011, and for that as Africans we are proud that one of our own made history on African soil. The unavoidable question has now been trending in other countries. Who can fill up a stadium in your country? Expecting to see more positives but still not surprised at 80% of the answers being centered on what people don't like about their local acts. It's basically more fashionable to be negative and probably earns more for the "like button". In the end we can't dwell on negativity and negative people will always be around, so let's look at how and if this can be emulated, what can we actually learn from #FillUpFNB if anyone else is to fill up a stadium. 1. Cassper started small and grew the movement. His first was fill up the coke Dome which had a capacity of 20,000. No South African Artist had ever done so. Once the movement was birthed it didn't stop there. 2. Not everyone who attended the concert was a fan. The movement became bigger than the artist. Each south African felt like they were part of making history. They wanted to see one of their own WIN. In the end they could say "I was there". The key was support your own to the fullest. We all know that group of people we don't like for their success cause all they do is support their own. Yep this is that. 3. Corporate sponsorship came in Big! Thousands of those tickets were bought by companies and given out for free. Companies didn't just say we will post up banners for you. They spoke with cash. Casspers endorsement deals already speak volumes about how much South African based companies respect artists. If your country still has companies trying to use your image only for their benefit at a cheap cost then you can kiss filling up a stadium goodbye.
