Lily Collins' Fairytale Wedding Dress.

The dress is a rare and exclusive Ralph Lauren creation, designed for Lily Collins's wedding to filmmaker Charlie McDowell in September 2021.

The Dress: It's a princess-style A-line wedding dress with long sleeves and a high neckline, crafted entirely from French Calais-Caudry lace with an overlay. The lace was adorned with Swarovski flowers and silk organza petals.

The Magic Touch (The Cape): Instead of a traditional veil, Lily Collins chose a hooded lace cape (also called a "cathedral cape" or "cape-style hood") that extended dramatically. This cape, which took 200 hours to complete, is the element that adds a mystical, fairytale-like feel, especially in the forest photos.

The Setting: The ceremony took place in a secret, romantic location worthy of a fantasy landscape: Dunton Hot Springs, a luxury resort in a ghost town in the mountains of Colorado, USA. The natural setting, with waterfalls and forests, perfectly complemented the style of the dress.

His family warmly welcomed me into their home, feeding me with exotic meals and searing intelligence that made me feel safe and smart all at once. Yet, Nathan was no molly-coddling codependent soft-soaper—he would tongue-lash me and kick my a** when I needed it—what real friends do. We always had bands and music schemes going, none of which topped the charts, but they set the stage for work ethics. Nathan says, “Good painting does no work,” but in his images I see a continuum of brainstorms swooping in, timeless appointments, and other unintended intersects, like cover art for LPs that haven’t been made yet.
