Haha, just kidding. How are you? I'm doing okay considering the weekend I had. It was the ADE weekend, or Amsterdam Dance Event for those that don't know.
Since my work is making videos (mostly for dj's and organizations of parties) I had to be there!
Thursday I checked Mr. Toolroom Knights himself, Mark Knight, at the Escape. Awesome set from him, really loved it. Was looking forward to the rest of the party when I got a call from a good friend of mine who had to film at Club Air, which was being destroyed by Afrojack and his friends.. He asked for my help, and as a good friend, I immediately said yes. It was a great party, made some awesome shots, partied with Paris Hilton & LMFAO, and talked to a few people that are quite big in the scene. Got home really late (which will be a recurring theme for this report).
The friday I was really tired, but had to go to Filmmore to do my intern stuff. Not having much energy wasn't a problem this day, because the work was finished quite quickly. :) The work btw, was pre-editing a episode of 'Hart tegen Hard' for Sandor Soeteman, one of Holland's best editors in the drama scene.
The saturday was the busiest day of the weekend. It started in Idskenhuizen, for a football match (which we lost). After that I was ready for the super saturday evening of ADE. I would be alongside my good friend and BIG talent Jaz von D all night, first filming him at Kings of Ace in The Sand, then off to the Passenger Terminal to check out Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano. Also for me an opportunity to spy on my big hero, Final Kid, who was there to film.
From the PTA it was straight to Paul v/d Heuvel's appartement to sleep for two hours on his couch before heading to Berghem. In Berghem a client's son was about to become Dutch Champion in his outdoors Karting competition. I went along to film the whole day, and later make an edit of it so he can start looking for sponsors. It was a really cool experience, and a first time for me filming racecars (or karts in this case).
My ADE weekend had been phenomenal. And I had a lot of fun making shots of all the party people. Also got some cool reactions from dj's who liked the Jaz von D TV episodes. So that's nice to hear as well!
Allthough I did not have to work at Filmmore the weekend, the days before ADE started I had a really cool assignment. Like I said, Sandor Soeteman asked me and another intern to do an edit for an episode of 'Hart tegen Hard'. HTH is a new series that's being transmitted on dutch tv, so it's a nationwide show. I was really excited to work on that, but tha assignment was really tough. We had to edit 56 scenes in 4 days, not even Sandor could do that. So potentially could be a problem.. Luckely my enthusiasm & motivation to do the best I can got me working really quick. In the end we finished 52 scenes, and Sandor was amazed by how much work we had done in 4 days. Also, he said, it was quality editing. So to start my ADE week with a BIG BIG compliment from one of Holland's finest editors is amazing and feels so good! :)
All in all, I have lots of things to do. Finish my projects started before and during ADE weekend. And ofcourse finish my stuff for internship, as that still is the most important thing up untill February.
Since we had the busiest weekend of 2011 now, I hope I can make time to blog something every week. Things I'll blog about then will be stuff I learn at Filmmore which I can then pass on to you, share about the projects I'm working on for Fuego Films, possibly some videos I really like(d), and more. So keep an eye on this channel, and you'll soon here more from Mr. Fuego Films! :)
UPDATE: Sandor was that happy with the edit Lonneke & I made, that he just asked me to edit another episode of 'Hart Tegen Hard'! :D
