WATER FILTERING.

Yep. You heard me right. Water filtering. We need to do it because in many places CLEAN and SOFT water is hard to come across. This is a list of types i've come across and where do they used typically.

How do one clean the water from the tap so it's drinkable enough? Level 1: Brita filter. The one that's countertop gravity-fed water filter. Level 2: In-line fiters with 3 or more sections dangling from a central "mounting bracket" of sorts, with a dedicated filtered water tap. Level 3: sorta like 2, but instead of 3 filters it's a huge filter in a metal can w/lid, plus smaller one or two sections after it. Dedicated filter tap as well. Level 4: two-stage reverse osmosis, the most expensive option. Level 1 is good for rural areas with water that may be a bit rough due to old pipes or water from a well. It might be a better idea to boil water, let it cool off and THEN using brita filter, but that's on the individual's choice. Level 2 is when you live in a city that HAS access to some FRESH water from underground source, and doesn't abuse reused water & water treatment plants for the tap water. It will clean up dirt, gunk, and some other nasties, and give you clean water. It's advised to install additional smaller non-refurbishable filters for cleaning it further. Level 3 is for when you live in older parts of some bigger cities and their water is MUCH worse - calcinated, too metallic-ish to taste "as-is" and so on. Bigger filter = more filtering of most of bigger things like rust particles from pipes and so on. Thing with boiling it from Level 1 is valid, just do it right after you fill ur kettle from a filtered water tap. Level 4 was in heavy use in EU in early 00s, nowadays everyone prefers Level 2 or 3. It cleans almost EVERYTHING. Water from this is more or less in line with most non-sparkling non-mineral bottled water. Sometimes people add mineralisation filters after the main system to bring back some minerals they might need. Take this all "with a grain of salt" cuz i don't know any specifics and going off only via things i've installed & tried in my apartment so far. Also, fun tip: it's cheaper to buy parts for level 1-3 and assemble them on ur own than to buy a kit cuz most likely the fittings for the mains and adapter with valve for the plastic line for the water inlet is going to be pure garboleum & might fall apart in a year or two. Also, the water line that is used with these, should be cut only with 90 degree angle with a craft knife or a really sharp razor - to avoid plastic spurs that might clog the system & to avoid "bleed-outs" - most of these systems use a C-shaped plastic clamp to hold in the water line. Plus of that system is in easy building and modifying the whole set, as well as replacing parts. And please, don't drink heavily mineralised water for long periods of time (2-3 months+) - it's very bad for health.
