You guys want to know of the fate of Alex the baby squirrel? I warn you it made me cry at least 4 separate times yesterday. We brought him to the Audubon Society and they said he was a "pinky" then told us there was a 98% chance he was a non-native squirrel and they only euthanize non-native animals. Alex is dead. It felt like I was giving up a baby to adoptions and they told me they'd have to put him down instead of care for him. I’m crying again now. I may have only taken care of him for three days, but that was enough to change my attitude I had on what was right to do to invasive species.
