Dear Friends of Look Lateral,
2018 has been a productive time for the Look Lateral team, so I’d like to share some updates and exciting news with all of you.
Art Partners
We’re in the process of onboarding our first art gallery onto the alpha version of the Look Lateral platform and FiMART marketplace. Our inaugural partner’s efforts are helping us to establish best practices for gallery onboarding.
When our additional MVP is launched (on day one of our ICO), these efforts will provide LOOK holders the ability to:
view provenance and pricing data of the artworks on the platform
buy and sell fractional ownership of these artworks in the FiMART marketplace.
Moreover, in the coming weeks, Look Lateral expects to enter into Letters of Interest with a select number of globally influential galleries. Stay tuned for more details to be announced on our first art gallery partner, as well as future partnerships.
Market Validation and Product-Market Fit
I also would like to share that we strategically selected top international art fairs in Miami, Los Angeles, New York, London, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore and Italy in order to engage cutting-edge artists, curators, galleries and museums across the globe.
We reconnected with our current network, built new relationships across the art ecosystem and validated the hypotheses behind our business model. We sought input on key aspects of the project and gauged the level of interest in Look Lateral’s go-to-market strategy.
I am thrilled to share that feedback has been very constructive. Our team and our partners are more excited than ever about moving the global art ecosystem to the blockchain era and creating a fully transparent, accessible, and liquid art marketplace.
Technology Update
We are very excited to bring on Ramp Equity as Look Lateral’s technology development partner. Ramp Equity’s technology and investment consultancy is led by Managing Partner Cliff Monlux. Cliff helped to launch CapitalStream, Demand Media, DocuSign and other financial services startups. He leads an experienced team of designers, developers, project managers, and business executives with extensive experience at Microsoft and other leading technology companies. His team is actively assisting us in designing and building the Look Lateral platform and the FiMART marketplace.
Ramp will support Look Lateral on an ongoing basis, and work with Dragonchain to leverage their blockchain technology stack.
