By utter chance I sat next to the legend Keiji Haino before the Moor Mother & Roscoe Mitchell concert at the 2019 FIMAV. Stealth portraits taken.
Phurpa at the 2018 FIMAV.
Double bill of Phew and Saicobab at the 2018 FIMAV.
Photo credits on the pictures themselves.
Audrey Chen with Richard Scott at the 34th FIMAV.
Late 2018 Record Store Day find:
Merzbow with Balázs Pándi, Mats Gustafsson, and Thurston Moore: Cuts Up, Cuts Out LP
Will be seeing this unit (sans Thurston) this Sunday at FIMAV.
Ate at L’Olive Rouge between concerts, some fine escargots and spaghettini carbonara.
It’s that time of year again, last weekend was the 33rd Festival International de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville, or FIMAV. Here’s a couple shots of the opening cocktail party, one by me, one taken by the fest people. The latter are typically watermarked (as you will see in many upcoming posts), I’m not taking credit.
