Tendinitis has been kinda awful these past few weeks, which means less digital art and more sketching in my sketchbook! I've been working on this one since the start of January, so HOPEFULLY I can finish it before April is over! More deets on the characters/art down below if you want em:
Luc with the kids! Thea is on his left, Fina on his right, and a very grumpy former-child-soldier/assassin-now-reformed-late-teen-grump Vex being forced to do family bonding activities
Seeing I haven't properly introduced Fina here: the pictured portraits are some of Thea’s friends who live in the orphanage run by the church next to the monastery (idk if I mentioned it before, but Luc helped out some monks in an Italian monastery in the early 1700s so in thanks, they let him stay there in one of the monastic cells in return; he has it cloaked with a temporal field to hide all the future tech/stuff if anyone wanders in, and considers it a temporary home). Fina's mother died in childbirth and her and her six other siblings got split up. She's seen as deformed due to her cleft lip, and though she says it doesn't bother her, she really wishes she could be "fixed" someday and look like the rest of the kids. Eternal optimist and tries to always look on the bright side of things and cheer others up. Thea and Fina are like peas in a pod and eventually put their heads together to convince Luc and Delia to adopt Fina officially 😌
Thea and Fina are the only ones who can get away with doing stuff like this to Vex, and he tolerates it surprisingly well. If anyone makes fun of him for how ridiculous he looks, he'll lash out at them, if only because it means they think his adopted sisters did a horrible job and that means they're criticizing the girls😤 Also "Kray" is a nickname for Vex's real name: the hc is that the girls are the only ones who find out his true name at first, but they only use the nickname since they aren't sure if he's okay with revealing the entire version to the adults yet
I need to draw more of Delia and Thea, so I used a Mary Cassatt painting as ref with Thea being about 3-4 here
I forget if I introduced Amir here, but he's a new character who is a veteran Temporal Corps agent and becomes unofficial leader of The Time Travel Gang when they meet up with him. 90% of his body is made up of a prosthetic cyborg rig since he got captured by enemy agents in the future who injected him with malicious nanites, hence why he covers up a lot 8'D
