Well, that’s it. It’s 11:00pm on September 28th UK time, which means it’s 6:00pm NY time and that means that Luke’s final performance in House of McQueen is now underway.
The last 2.5 months have been just the most incredible journey. For Luke, he has fully embraced the heart and soul of Lee McQueen. From rehearsals, through previews, to opening night and beyond, he has continuously tweaked and fine tunes his performance and it has won him rave reviews from existing fans and new ones.
For us, we have been well and truly spoiled by new videos and photos of Luke at stage door virtually every night since August 19th. Since the Bridgerton s3 WT we have never had so much new content so consistently.
Luke has shown himself to new audiences to be the phenomenal actor we all knew him to be, capable of fascinating nuanced performances and again using his facial expressions to full effect. But he has also shown, through his appearances as stage door and through what his colleagues have said about him, that he is a beautiful soul, a wonderful human being, thoughtful, sensitive, funny, caring, hard-working, passionate, encouraging. He has proven that he is indeed the embodiment of “perfect”.
I hope Luke takes some time to recharge his batteries and ai simply cannot wait to see the variety of roles that he takes on in the future. I may have to start a savings account now just to save for, not a rainy day, but a Luke day - a day where I fly half way around the world to see him on stage, as I am gutted that I was not able to get to NY to see him in HOM.
Keep shining brightly Luke, you are one of the most formidable actors of your generation.
