The 2023 World Wrestling Championships will kick off this Saturday (Sept. 16) and Team USA is sending a whole crew over there to compete for gold.
One of the surprise members of the team is Chance Marsteller at 79 kg. Coming out of nowhere to upset Jordan Burroughs and take a spot on the national team, Marstellar was a standout undefeated high school wrestler who fell into addiction and flamed out of wrestling for a while. After legal issues kept him out of competition for the 2016 and 2020 Olympics, Marstellar has gotten his life together and is ready to compete at the international level.
