this is my final animation which is silent running animation that I played music along to.
this was my second attempted at my FMP, that was a traditional frame by frame animation after my first attempt got corrupted.
These images are a before and after image of my set -up for my space in the art exhibition that we had. What it contains is a monitor to display the silent animation and 3 sets of headphones that were looping two songs that tie my entire theme together. both A1 hung on either wall easy to see just above the monitor and the last stuff is just behind the wall which was the power source with the laptop that played the music and animation with headphone wires connected to it.
my Fmp has changed up to 3 times now from digital to traditional animation then into a attempt at mono printing now taking some of the idea from mono attempt and tracing over the 118 photos that i have and coloring them and turning them into a frame b frame animation ready for the event to showcase our final pieces. and to be fair I find this a lot simpler quicker process to produce my animation compared to mono printing or digital frame by frame drawing.
evaluation
I think that my project has been a mild success as there was a large moment when I lost quite a bit of work leading towards my FMP, but I was able to pick it up and have a somewhat relative traditional silent frame by frame animation. From my other route for my graphics pathway considered of multiple forms of animation but for me to decide on what it wanted I needed to concede what style of animation that I wanted to do like traditional /stop frame and digital frame by frame.
On the sided that is my research of my pathway, I found it fairly hard to find the artist that I was looking for as there were countless artist in animation ranging from traditional to modern. I was able to concede my search down to two or three artist that have made a fairly large impact on the world of animation being like “Rebecca sugar” and “Jamie Hewlett” .I did also had to some form of research on the history of animation like the small history of the magic lantern a device that was used as a form of projector of for early forms of frame by frame animation where indervigual frames were put in front of a light and slowly cycled through the strip of the frame animation.
From the research that I gathered I have strongly pulled towards digital animation as I felt that I could use this platform in a particular way to convey a simple message towards who was watching it. So I once I knew what format I wanted to do for my FMP I started to come up with concept art of what characters that I want to produce in my animation. Most of the samples that I produced had a slight coloration to one another but I wanted them to be unique in there in right. So I turned to the concept art Idea’s for “Hideki kamiya’s Bayonetta” and from that I produced two concepts with designs that I am quite proud of which are “Love is Blue” and “All’s Fair in Love and War” which was based around my overall theme of “BAD LOVE” a large theme and admittedly a depressing theme which I sort of referenced to myself in my view and other Forms of bad love that we might find in society.
Later on the production of the work was going smoothly on “adobe animate cc” and I was give fairly good comments on its production; but that wasn’t going to stay like that for too long as about ¾ into the course my work became corrupted and I tried to recover the work and look for a recant back-up but there was no luck on that front. So I had to scrap the idea of a digital animation with story and go for a traditional animation with not that much context, but I was able to keep the sub-meanings behind the charters designs. Over-all I found this course quite interesting and it showed me a couple career path that I might really doing as I really enjoy doing them. The FMP that I will have is two A3 for “Love is Blue” and “All’s fair in Love and War” with the a silent running animation in the centre with maybe one or two songs to tie it together with the main theme.
So as a plan b i decided to do a traditional pencil point animation: to put it simply I would be drawing each frame and as a definition I would use some fine line markers. And as for how I am progressing with this plan I have gone up to 83 frames at 5FPS. And I am quite looking forward to how it will turn out and how it will look on Photoshop.
plan B
so yer with the trouble of my first , has lead my to plan b with a very bad taste in my mouth and left my also quite annoyed. I can’t reveal what i plan to do for a back-up just yet as it is quite sketchy and maybe doing something still on the lines of animation but possibly traditional compared to digital but that is up for debated in my mind before i can continue
i lost it all/ plan B
my animation file got corrupted and there is a early back-up of it but because we are close to the finish line with this project i don’t think i can replicate the work in time so i’m having to resort to plan be which is much simpler to what i was doing and i already got what i need to start it .
